Continuum
Continuum is a small application utility designed to help keep
computer clocks synchronized, whether in single user setups at home or
in a Windows networked environment. Such synchronization can be useful
in a variety of situations, from database applications to development
to just wanting to keep accurate time.
Continuum receives time from a network server, running transparently
from your taskbar and/or your system tray. Continuum can retrieve time
from either a server running Apteryx's Continuum/server or Continuum
Service, or from any time server capable of using the Network Time Protocol
(RFC-1305), also known as NTP. There are many public
time servers run by public institution and the National Institute
of Standards and Technology (NIST) that are reachable on the internet.
Typically on a local network, a trusted computer running Continuum Service
or Continuum/server is selected to act as the local time server. All other
computers on the local network can then use any Continuum product to periodically
update and synchronize the system clock to the local time server.
Continuum and Continuum/server are developed and supported for Windows
95/98/NT4/2000/XP.
All Continuum products are provided on an install CD-ROM, complete with
electronic documentation.
