HELP: Air Techniques ScanX Displaying RAM Buffer Error

SYMPTOMS

When trying to capture x-rays from the ScanX hardware, the software displays a RAM buffer I/O error.

CAUSE

The ScanX hardware requires a EPP parallel port and will not work with PS/2 or ECP parallel ports.

RESOLUTION

Reboot the computer and enter the system BIOS.  Access the parallel port options of the BIOS and set it as an EPP parallel port.
