HELP: Suni Is Issuing An 'Unable to initialize DMD board' Error

 

SYMPTOMS

When trying to capture images from the Suni system, the system is displaying an 'Unable to initialize DMD board' error message.

 

CAUSE

A number of causes can result in this error message: Suni board not properly plugged into the computer; weak internal Suni battery or low power; hardware interference; software crash; invalid hardware driver; driver reentry problems; hardware malfunction.

 

RESOLUTION

Since this error message is the result of so many different causes, one or more of the following might be required:

  1. Ensure that the device has been correctly set up in Widow's Device Manager.

  2. Ensure that the hardware is correctly attached to the PC.

  3. Try unplugging the Suni hardware, wait 30 seconds and then plug the system back in and retry the operation.

  4. Try rebooting the computer.

  5. Try Reinstalling the hardware drivers.

  6. Wait 20 minutes before trying to capture another x-ray.

  7. Plug the Suni unit into a compatible AC adapter power source.

  8. Activate the software delay between sensor captures.  To enable this delay:

    1. Select Options from the Tools menu.

    2. Click on the Sensor tab.

    3. Enable the When capturing a layout, pause between sensor captures option.

    4. Leave the default timeout value of 2 seconds.

    5. Click on the OK button.
