An error message "Temporary File Failure" is displayed when XrayVision tries to save an image or layout.
Typically, this error message is displayed when trying to save a layout to a patient and is a result of the loss of connectivity to the networked location of the patient database.
Since layouts are stored in the ZIP file format, the typical saving convention is to first create a temporary file and then move the temporary file to the target filename upon successful creation of the ZIP file. Since the networking has been lost to the target computer, the initial temporary file cannot be created, thus resulting in the generation of this error message.
To save the layout, you will first have to save the file in a temporary location (usually on the local hard drive), reestablish the network connection (usually by rebooting), and then importing the saved file into the patient record. To save the data:
Select Save As from the File menu.
Select the appropriate folder/drive from the Save In drop down control (usually, for convenience, the root directory of the ?C:? drive is selected).
Select the appropriate subdirectory if necessary.
Enter a descriptive filename in the Filename field.
Click on the Save button.
Close the application and reboot the computer.
Start XVa3 and reopen the patient for which the file/layout could not be saved.
Select Open from the File menu.
Click on the Open File Direct button.
Select the appropriate folder/drive from the Look In drop down control (the one that you previously selected when saving the file).
Select the appropriate subdirectory and filename.
Click on the Open button.
Enable the On successful move, delete original file option.
Click on the Yes, add these files to the patient button.
