Due to Apteryx's SIMU (Single Installation Multiple Usage) technology, the XVa3 application directory can manually be moved in its entirety to another location on the network. Be sure to perform the following steps on each computer on which XVa3 was setup after manually moving the application:
Double-click on Network Neighborhood and navigate to the new application directory.
Run the XVAssistant.EXE application file. Please refer to the First Time Running After The Move notes after this section.
Select Create Local Shortcuts from the Help menu. This will update all of the XVa3 links on the computer including the desktop icon and Start menu.
First Time
Running After The Move: The
first time the application is run from anywhere on the network after it
has been moved, you will have to re-register the application and update
your PAC licensing (a security feature in the software recognizes the
fact that it has been moved and automatically invalidates the registration
and PAC licensing). Be
sure to enter the registration number that originally came with your software.
To reestablish
your PAC licensing, you will have to contact Apteryx
technical support.
