In XVa3, the patient database can reside on any computer on the network. Patient databases can be moved by any of a number of different methods.
Due to the possibility of data loss when
moving your current patient database from one location to another, it
is strongly recommended you back up your data before
moving a patient database.
To manually move the patient database:
Make sure that XVa3 is not running on any of the computers on the network.
Move the patient database and all sub-directories to the new location.
Start XVa3 on one computer.
Select Mount Remote Patient Database from Mount Database from the Advanced Options option in the Tools menu.
Navigate to the new location for the database sub-directory and click on the Open button. Apteryx highly recommends specifying the patient by going through network-neighborhood instead of selecting a drive letter.
Close XVa3 (this will force the new location to be stored in the global XVa3 settings).
