The
OpenDental Practice Management software has a built-in bridge that integrates
directly with XrayVision® (XV). This data drill is not required if using
this direct integration. This article only applies if using NameGrabber to bridge
OpenDental with XV or DataGrabber to integrate with a third-party imaging application.
Download and install the latest OpenDental Data drill for Name Grabber or Data Grabber.
MySql 5.1 is required on each workstation that needs to bridge from OpenDental. Verify whether MySQL 5.1 is installed and running by accessing Control Panel > Add/Remove programs.
If it is not running, go to http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/5.1.html to download and install the latest version.
Once MySql is installed, the OpenDental datadrill will need to be configured to specify the Server, Database, User and Password. This information can be found within OpenDental under the File > Select Database menu option.
