Mobile computing (or advanced database) enables the user to utilize multiple patient databases, import and export databases, backup databases, synchronize portable computers with the server and relating custom information with patient databases.
The mobile computing features available in the Advanced Database extension permit you to manage and synchronize multiple databases between one or more mobile computes (i.e. notebook) and your network. The synchronization options permit you to make backups of your databases and give you the ability to work and make changes in the field without having to be connected to your network.
Before you can effectively utilize the mobile computing options in XVa3, you should be sure that you have performed the following steps:
Set up at least one patient database on your network. Before you can use the mobile computing options, you must first create at least one new patient database. To create a new patient database, select the Database ? Advanced Database ? New Database menu option.
Enable
Mobile Computing on your mobile computer. Mobile
computing can be enabled by selecting the ?This computer is a mobile computer?
option under the Database ? Mobile Computing ? Mobile Computing Options
menu option.

Set the Server Databases directory on your mobile computer. In the preceding dialog, select the directory on your network where the patient databases are stored on your network. Unless the default databases directory was changed on the network, this directory is the XVa3Databases directory under the main application sub-directory.
