Windows Vista Compatibility Statement
Apteryx, Inc. is dedicated to developing
the highest quality products and support
for users working in all current Microsoft
operating systems, including Windows Vista.
All of Apteryx's products are compatible
with all versions of Windows Vista. With
this latest release of Windows, Microsoft
has enhanced and strengthened security.
Because of this, you may experience some
component or behavioral differences when
operating on a Windows Vista platform.
If you experience difficulty during installation
or execution with any Apteryx product,
please try the following:
You can disable User Account Control
(UAC). UAC is on by default and it may
restrict our installation application
from writing to the registry.
To disable
UAC, click the Vista start button, then
click the icon above your user name,
then follow the directions for "Turn
User Account Control on or off"
If
UAC is required:
- The first time you
open the software, run
it as Administrator.
To do this, right-click
on the shortcut to the software,
and choose Run As Administrator.
If you cannot find the program shortcut,
navigate to the directory where the
program is installed. By default,
it is installed to C:\Program Files\Apteryx\Apteryx
Imaging\.
After you locate the
program, right click it and choose
Run As Administrator.
Once the software
is open, it will ask you to register.
Input your registration number,
and fill out the rest of the form.
Click Get Activation Code, and then
Done.
- Whenever you download an update
for the software, the update
must also be run as administrator.
First, download the update to a temporary
folder, such as your Desktop. Then right-click
on the update, and choose Run
As Administrator.
More Windows Vista information
Please be aware that
some hardware drivers for certain devices
may not be Vista compatible, and need to be
supported by their respective manufacturer.
Apteryx cannot guarantee or support Vista
compatibilty for third-party drivers and
hardware.
