Creating A New Inventory On The Server
When you create a new inventory on the INcontrol
Server via INcontrol Inventory Manager,
you can assign the following attributes:
Inventory ID
|
The identifier that will be used when referring to a specific
inventory. The inventory ID is usually of a form that
can be included on bar coded labels.
|
Description
|
The description is used when printing an inventory's reports.
Typically, this description is a more meaningful identifier
for the inventory.
|
History
|
The history settings indicate how long transactions should
be maintained for an inventory once they are no longer needed.
Histories are used when performing analysis on previous
part usage, and can be kept indefinitely.
|
Auto Cutoff Options
|
Cutoffs determine when reconciled transactions are moved
from the active transactions and placed in an inventory's
history.
|
Downloadable Part File
|
Indicates that an inventory's part listing can be obtained
from a remote location. In addition, this setting permits
the selection of the inventory's part file and format.
|
Host Posting
|
Host posting permits orders and transactions to be automatically
posted or exported to one or more remote files when working
with inventories.
