Frequently Asked Questions for XrayVision®
Why do the amalgams and crowns in my mounted FMX radiographs turn out too bright when I scan them into XrayVision? If the mounts you are using are a dark color - like black or very dark gray - the brightness of the image will be adjusted to compensate for the black mount, which therefore makes the bright amalgams or crowns too bright. To capture a properly bright image, you can either use a lighter colored mount (off white or light gray) or remove the x-rays from the mount and place them directly on the scanner bed. One or more tabs on the XrayVision Options screen displays strange characters. When I click on a tab with a strange character XrayVision closes. What happened?Check which version of Windows 95 you are running. Go to the Start button, click on Settings, select Control Panel. Double-click on the System icon. On the top right corner of the ensuing window you'll find the System identified as Windows 95. The number underneath identifies the version number. If the number is 4.00.950, you are running a very early version of Windows 95 that contains a number of bugs, one of which is causing the problem with XrayVision. To remedy, go to the Microsoft Web site to obtain the latest version upgrade for Windows 95 or upgrade to Windows 98. Since I already have a Reveal camera, will I need to use my video printer in order to get images into XrayVision? No, if you have a video capture card installed on a computer and you run the video output of the Reveal camera to that capture card. In the typical configuration, computers are placed in each operatory in which intra-oral camera images are captured. The camera is attached to the computer with a video cable and XrayVision is used to capture the images. Often a foot switch is utilized to enable the operator to 'click' the foot switch when the camera wand is correctly positioned. The image is then viewed and enhanced within XrayVision. Can I use XrayVision to capture my treatment plans and other documents and save them to the same file as x-rays and other images?Yes! With XrayVision you are able to capture multiple images using "layouts". Layouts capture images from multiple sources (including scanners, digital sensors, intra-oral cameras, etc.) and saves all of the images to a single file. Each of the images can be viewed independently of the others and can be enhanced using XrayVision's extensive toolset - without affecting or enhancing the other images. Layouts are perfect for capturing treatment plans and handwritten notes with the images to which they correspond as well as capturing multiple views of specific problem areas and pathology. |
